When You See Your Plans Sabotaged

It’s Friday and doing the blogging I look forward to each week with Lisa-Jo on her blog, The Gyspy Mama and we are doing five minute Fridays.  She chooses a word and we write for Five Minutes.  I went over Five minutes, but not by too much. Thank you Lisa-Jo!

Once when I was young, we were playing at a swimming pool when I noticed a girl about my age jumping from the pool deck into her father’s arms.

I love this idea, and run to get my dad to do the same.

Into the water my dad goes as I instruct him as to the plan.

“Stand here, close to the side of the pool and catch me in your arms when I jump.  Hold your arms like this and don’t drop me, I don’t want my face to get wet!”

So I take my position several feet away from the edge of the pool where my dad waits patiently for me.

As I take my position I have a fantasy of everyone at the pool standing up and applauding this jump that I am about to do.

I take off running and just as my feet leave the pool deck, my little sister, in snorkel gear, comes up out of the water like a swamp monster, grabbing for my feet that are sailing over her head.

Now my arms and legs are flapping wildly trying to stop this jump that is in mid-air.

And my dad, seeing my full gallop towards him has begun to back up creating the space for my sister to enter the scene.

I hit my dad’s chest with my head falling down his back and him desperately holding the back of my thighs.

My face is wet and now my hair is sticking to my face…I am not happy!

As dad places my feet back onto the pool deck, my first thoughts are of how to ship my sister to Australia, and not caught, or get in trouble.

So many times we work and plan so very hard only to have an unseen disaster rear its head and destroy all of our hard work.

“It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He give to His beloved even in his sleep.” Psalms 127:2

This weekend, remember that you have worked hard for at least five days, use the sixth day to enjoy family, and the seventh to honor the Lord.

Give all your plans to the Lord, for He never sleeps or slumbers and can have it all worked out before you get up in the morning.

Happy Weekend friends! I’m  off to shoot another wedding for family.   I’ve loved my week with you; we’ll talk again next week.

Thank you, Victoria, for always allowing me to use pictures of your darling, to use in these blog!  Love you!

Thank you for this reminder to slow, to rest, to stop toiling away the time. I needed this, and I plan to heed this. Blessings as you travel!

Ohhh, yes, I can relate! But, your dad did not give up trying to catch you – just like our Heavenly Father! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for sharing this story! How many times did sisters ruin our moment, right? Would have made me scream when I was younger….now I just smile and love that I have sisters and my girls have sisters! (for the most part anyway, lol!!)

    Have a great weekend!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Christy. My little sister is my dearest friend now. When we were younger we could be each other’s best friend or very worst enemy. I’m glad your daughters have sisters. There’s nothing like them. Have a blessed weekend. ~Di

I have to express some thanks to you just for bailing me out of this particular scenario. Right after exploring throughout the internet and seeing opinions which are not beneficial, I figured my entire life was gone. Being alive without the presence of answers to the difficulties you’ve solved by means of your good report is a serious case, as well as the kind which could have badly damaged my entire career if I had not noticed the blog. Your actual knowledge and kindness in handling every item was vital. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t encountered such a step like this. I can also at this point look ahead to my future. Thank you so much for your impressive and amazing help. I will not think twice to refer your blog post to anybody who will need care on this area.
